Terms of Use
1. Acceptance
By using InstantWordCount.com, you confirm you have read and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are not legally able to agree to these Terms yourself, you may use the service only with permission and supervision from a parent, guardian or other authorised person who agrees on your behalf.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service, interfere with site operations, attempt unauthorized access, bypass safety or file-size controls, introduce malicious code, probe other users or systems without authorization, overload our infrastructure, or use the product in connection with unlawful or abusive activity.
3. Intellectual property
The InstantWordCount brand, site design, and service code belong to us or our licensors. Your own draft text remains yours, and these terms do not transfer ownership of that content to us.
4. Your content and files
Your drafts, uploaded images and backgrounds, PDFs, extracted text, combined images, grids, contact sheets, stitched images, transparent cutouts, exported documents, social previews and other outputs remain yours and your responsibility. Browser-side processing does not transfer ownership of that content to us. You confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions for material you process, and you agree not to use the tools for unlawful, infringing, deceptive, abusive or harmful activity.
5. Passport, visa and ID photo outputs
The passport and ID photo tools help format your photo to the selected size. Official acceptance depends on the issuing authority’s current rules, photo quality, lighting, expression, background, face position, and printing. We do not guarantee acceptance by passport offices, visa offices, governments, embassies, consulates, airlines, employers, schools, licensing agencies or any other authority. Always verify the current official requirements before submitting or printing a photo.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” and may change, contain errors or be unavailable. Word counts, readability and SEO signals, generated snippets, QR codes, canvas layouts, combined images, contact sheets, stitches, passport/ID presets, local background removal, Image Studio exports, PDF operations, document extraction and other outputs are utilities only. They are not legal, compliance, identity-document, accessibility, SEO-ranking, publishing, archival, security or other professional advice. Browser processing may fail with damaged, encrypted, unusually large, unsupported or non-standard files, and output quality depends on the source material, selected settings, browser and device resources. Always inspect and independently verify results before submission, printing, publication or distribution.
7. Consumer rights and limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer guarantees. Subject to those rights and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss arising from use of the site. Where liability may lawfully be limited, it is limited to the amount paid for the relevant service in the 12 months before the claim.
8. Downloads, local data and file safety
You are responsible for checking that a generated download opens correctly and contains the expected pages, dimensions, format, transparency and quality before deleting the source material or relying on the output. Image, font, archive and PDF parsers can encounter malformed or hostile files; only open files you trust, keep your browser updated and retain original backups. Clearing browser data, using private browsing, changing browser profiles or devices, or resetting a tool may remove locally saved projects, preferences and presets. InstantWordCount is not a backup or archival service.
9. External components
Some optional features depend on third-party font, runtime, WebAssembly or model assets. Availability, caching and request handling by those providers are outside our complete control. The Privacy and Cookie Policies identify the current categories of external requests.
10. Security reports
Report suspected vulnerabilities privately to [email protected] with the subject “Security report”. Do not send credentials, private documents, identity photos or destructive proof-of-concept material.
11. Service and terms changes
We may improve, replace, limit or discontinue features as browsers, libraries and file formats change. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by the updated date on this page. Your continued use after an update means the revised terms apply from that point.
