1. Overview

InstantWordCount.com (“InstantWordCount”, “we”, or “us”) provides browser-based writing and file tools. Your words and selected files belong to you. The product is designed so normal writing analysis and supported conversion workflows run in your browser instead of being uploaded to our servers for processing. 2. Data we collect

We do not require an account for the core tools. The hosting provider may record standard request and security information such as IP address, requested URL, browser or device details, timestamps and error data needed to deliver, protect and troubleshoot the public website. If you contact us, we receive the email address, message and any information you choose to include so we can review and respond to the enquiry. InstantWordCount also stores limited preferences in your browser as described below.

3. Your content and files

Supported writing, image and PDF tools are designed to process your selected content inside your browser where practical. That content is not intentionally uploaded to InstantWordCount for processing. Temporary previews and exports are generally created on your device while the page is open. Some optional features need the external resources described below, but selected drafts and files are not intentionally included in those resource requests. Browser limits, unsupported formats or unavailable resources may prevent an operation from completing.

4. Browser storage and cookies

The current site uses browser storage rather than application-set HTTP cookies. It may store the following information on the device and browser profile you use:

Uploaded image and PDF file contents are not intentionally saved in browser storage. We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies to profile your activity.

5. Analytics status

InstantWordCount does not currently use product analytics, visitor tracking scripts, advertising pixels, user-behavior replay tools, or QR scan analytics. QR codes generated by the QR Studio are static: destinations are encoded directly into the QR image and are not routed through an InstantWordCount tracking redirect. If privacy-friendly analytics are added in a future release, this policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated before rollout.

6. Third-party services and overseas processing

• Fonts: The site may request font files from Google Fonts. Google receives normal connection information needed to deliver those files.
• Local background removal: When first used, this feature may download runtime and model files from jsDelivr, staticimgly.com or Google-hosted storage. Processing is designed to run on your device; the downloaded components may remain in your browser cache and are not installed as a desktop application.
• Hosting and email: Service providers may process ordinary connection, security and correspondence data to deliver, protect and support the site.

These providers may process connection or correspondence data outside your country, including in the United States or other locations where they operate. Selected drafts, photos, PDFs and generated outputs are not intentionally included in font or model download requests.

7. Security and retention

We use reasonable technical and operational safeguards appropriate to this browser-based service. No website or file-processing tool can be guaranteed completely secure. Only open files you trust and keep original copies of important work. Hosting and security logs are retained according to the provider’s operational settings; local browser data remains until the stated expiry or until you clear it.

8. Children’s privacy

The service is a general-purpose productivity toolkit and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request account profiles or collect children’s content through an account system. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information to us may contact us so the concern can be investigated.

9. Your choices and privacy requests

You can clear local history, preferences, projects and presets through the relevant tool or your browser settings. You may also block third-party font or model requests through browser privacy controls, although typography or AI-assisted background removal may then be unavailable.

To ask about personal information we may hold through support correspondence or hosting records, request access or correction, or make a privacy complaint, email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy”. Please describe the request and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant correspondence or record. We will review privacy complaints and respond within a reasonable period. If a concern remains unresolved, you may contact the privacy regulator available in your jurisdiction.
