Cookie Policy
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites. They remember preferences and enable functionality. Not all cookies track you.
2. The one cookie we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
iwc_ck | Records you’ve seen our cookie banner | Essential | 365 days |
3. What we don’t use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Analytics cookies that track individuals
- Social media pixels of any kind
- Third-party cookies whatsoever
4. Analytics status
No analytics platform is currently active on InstantWordCount. If this changes, we will update this page with the analytics provider, purpose, legal basis, and any consent options before enabling it.
5. Local storage
We use localStorage to save your writing history, theme preference, optional workspace targets such as keyword and tone, and a short-lived draft handoff when you move text from the main editor into another tool. Supported file and canvas tools process selected images, uploaded backgrounds, previews, generated Open Graph/social images, temporary converted files, ZIP files, and PDFs in memory on your device and do not store those files in localStorage. The draft handoff is cleared after use.
6. Optional library downloads
Some browser tools may load client-side JavaScript libraries from a content delivery network, such as QR code and PDF utility libraries. These are not cookies, but they do create ordinary web requests from your browser. Your tool content is not sent to InstantWordCount for processing.
7. Managing cookies
Delete iwc_ck via your browser settings. The banner will reappear next visit. The tool functions normally without any cookies.
