A LITTLE PREPARATION HELPS

Clear pages.
Better text.

Use an upright, well-lit image. Keep the whole line in frame and choose the language on the page.

Does this upload my documents?

No. Your image or PDF is processed on this device. Recognition code and language models download from InstantWordCount; cached models contain no document text. Results are kept only in this tab unless you copy, download or explicitly continue in another tool.

Which languages and files can I use?

Choose English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi or Nepali. English is also included with the other language choices. Use a JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF up to 25 MB. Process up to 20 PDF pages at a time. Use an unlocked PDF; encrypted or corrupt files may not open.

Can it read handwriting or preserve tables?

This tool works best with clear printed text. Handwriting, unusual fonts, complex columns and tables can give poor results. Output is editable plain text, so original document formatting is not preserved. Always review the result.

What happens when I continue in Workspace?

The extracted text opens as a new document. Your previous Workspace drafts are kept. The transfer uses temporary browser session storage only after you select Continue, and is removed after a successful import. If browser storage is unavailable, copy or download your text instead.
