Cookie Policy
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences and understand how visitors use the site. Cookies set by the website you're visiting are called "first-party cookies". Cookies set by other companies via the website are called "third-party cookies".
2. Cookies we use
We use only one strictly necessary, first-party cookie:
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
iwc_ck | Remembers that you have seen and acknowledged our cookie consent banner, so we don't show it on every page visit. | Essential | 365 days |
This cookie contains no personal data. It stores only the value "1" to indicate consent has been given.
3. What we don't use
We do not use:
- Advertising cookies — no retargeting, no programmatic advertising
- Analytics cookies that track individuals — we use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics
- Social media tracking pixels — no Facebook Pixel, Twitter Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, etc.
- Third-party cookies — no cookies set by external companies on our site
- Session recording tools — we do not record your mouse movements or keystrokes
4. Local storage
We use your browser's localStorage API — which is technically distinct from cookies — to store your writing history locally on your device. This data:
- Never leaves your device
- Is not accessible to us
- Contains only snippets of text you've typed and basic statistics
- Can be cleared at any time via the History tab or your browser settings
5. Managing cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here's how to manage cookies in common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Deleting the iwc_ck cookie will cause our cookie banner to reappear on your next visit. Our tool will continue to function correctly even if you block all cookies.
